CV

Mohammad Aziz is a Los Angeles-based artist and designer working in physical, digital and where the two intersect. He is currently working in digital and physical fashion, collaborating with small to large scale fashion houses and companies. Prior to his current role as Design Director for Seoul + LA based digital fashion start up Novawear, he was the Central Asia regional advisor for the United Nations’ Ethical Fashion Initiative- bridging the worlds of luxury fashion and vulnerable artisan communities. And prior to that role, he was a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar in Textiles in Central Asia. He has varied experiences creating projects for international high profile stakeholders (EU, UN), as well as assisting Master hand-embroidery matriarchs from remote Tajik villages.

His personal art merges the richness of Central Asian and Afghan textiles with neo futurism. Focused on sustainability, inclusion, and diversity in design, he strives to transcend borders, and help reshape the modern artistic landscape.

Aziz holds a Master's of Design degree in Fashion + Textiles from the Glasgow School of Art, training from Parsons School of Design, and a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Architecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
